I’ve never liked my knees. They kind of bend inward. And they look completely un-feminine in skirts. They hurt- a lot. I was very adventurous (and clumsy!) as a kid, so they are covered in scars.

This picture was taken after my 5K Saturday. These knees have let me train with them. They let me get through the 3.2 miles without hurting at all (although one is in pain now!). But you know what the best part is? These knees are my own.

Congrats on your race, girl!!
I have a friend who doesn’t like her perfectly fine knees either. I’ve always figured I had bigger worries than my knees, so this one always strikes me as funny! But obviously, I realize we all have our own ‘thing’. Anyway, I hope your knee pain disappears quickly!
Wahoo for your PR!!
I was just talking my friend about how I want to get that knee surgery that Demi Moore got. ha ha. My knees are saggy and old looking. But they do get me to run long distances, so I should be grateful.
ThickChick and p.o.m.- It was kind of funny whe I saw your comments- I wanted to hide my race time from you two! You two with your long distances and impressive time..
Thanks so much for the encouragement. I am completely addicted now. And it’s thrilling to think that I can get faster and stronger! Soon I’ll be posting a (much lower per mile) time for a 10K.
UM…are we twins? My knees nearly touch when I stand! SOOO PAINFUL and shin-splints are a given…:( Glad I have a sister, afterall! haha
Good for you for embracing your knees. I totally understand the significance of that. I have NEVER liked my knees. I’ve always felt like I have fat knees and that they somehow are angled funny.
Everyone tells me I’m nuts. Oh well.
Happy- I’m so glad you are back! And that is how I would describe my knees- fat and angled funny. Oh well!
