Day of Eating

Do you ever have those days where it feels like all you do is EAT? Yesterday was one of those days! Morning started off with a bowl of Kashi Go Lean with 1/2 a banana and soy milk.

Before my workout I had the other half of my banana with PB.

Workout:

- 4 mi. hill run

- 70 lunges, 50 squats, 20 push-ups, 300 crunches, 1 min. plank

- 15 min. bike on indoor trainer

Workouts have been spotty with the craziness of the move and New Year’s Eve celebrations. It felt good to get a good session in!

Lunch was a mixed salad with romaine, mixed greens, tomatoes, avocado, red onion, carrots, broccoli and a ginger dressing. Mmmm, veggies!

Meet Emma (above), Jack’s new sister. Or girlfriend. We’re not sure yet.

My salad was light on protein so I had some walnuts and almonds for satiety.

…with some Spark!

First-timers on the blog, meet Braxton and Barley, Dixie’s new brothers. Or boyfriends.

Richard and I set out to run errands when he returned from work. First. we brought out our inner 5-year-olds with fruit strips.

Richard has been telling me about Amazing Savings, a locally-owned grocery store that sells gourmet and organic products at super low prices. Kombucha for $1, organic milks for $1, organic produce…. I didn’t believe it. As any newly-engaged couple would do, we headed over so I could see what this place was all about.

Friends, my jaw is still on the ground. Check out what we scored.

All of this, plus spelt English muffins (already in the freezer) and two cases of Svelte- normally $35/each.

All of this for $80.08. No kidding. What did we do to celebrate? EAT!

While watching dinner cook in the microwave, we tested out most of our buys. So far we know the chips, hummus, chocolate soy milk and cookies are all delicious.

In our treasure hunt we discovered Asheville-made roots hummus. Good glory this stuff is delicious. We tried the Original and Chipotle flavors. From here on out we will just call this “crack.”

As if we hadn’t already consumed enough food to fuel a few marathons, we had Simply Asia Spicy Kung Pao meal kit mixed with carrots and peas. I added some PB to make it more like pad thai. A delicious, fast meal!

Do you have a local (or online) place you go to for amazing savings?

I’m pretty sure if Amazings Savings ever folds, half of Asheville’s population will fall away. If you go to the one in town, look out for a cashier named Catfish. He is the sweetest man alive, and he wears a cool star cap to boot!
