I believe in yoga. It heals the body, centers the mind and strengthens the soul. Richard and I were psyched when we discovered the Asheville Community Yoga Center in town.

The mission of the Asheville Community Yoga Center is to serve the community through the love offering of yoga classes, lectures, workshops and related services with the intention that through these practices we will come together in love and attain freedom in this life. Let’s practice!

We’ve been attending Michael’s Vinyasa Flow at ACYC the last few weeks. The class is fun (he warns you there may be F-bombs) and real. He encourages us when we need it and pushes us when we can push ourselves farther. It’s a perfect post-work flow to prepare us to take on the rest of our week. If you visit Asheville, be sure to check out this community-supported studio!

Last night’s class was so packed that our mats were literally touching on all four sides!! We couldn’t put our faces down in certain poses or we’d lick the person’s feet in front of us :-P

After dinner we headed to Rosetta’s for dinner: Buchi and vegan pad thai. Delicious.

I love weeknight dates with my man.

What do you take time to do after work to prepare you for the week?

I’m so glad you finally checked it out! Michael is my uncle and I’ve been dying to get up there and try one of his classes. I hope you enjoyed it and continue to support Asheville Community Yoga Center!

I can’t do crowded yoga. I went to a free class at lululemon once and there was some poor girls foot in my face the whole time. I need space! Thankfully my amazing studio has tons of space.

To get ready for the week I do yoga a few times a week, and pick the house up before going to bed.

After work I almost always make time to get in some sort of a workout. It helps me get through the rest of the night (having two girls requires energy) and I tend to sleep better as well.

I’m learning to love yoga. I’ve always been more of a cardio and weights girl, but lately I’m trying to mix things up and yoga has been tossed in the mix. I’m not in love yet (probably because I’m so unbalanced) but I’m getting there!

Pad thai looks great! I bet it would help if I started practicing yoga more often. Right now I just keep going through the week and don’t prepare in any way.

Crowded yoga makes me nervous – but it’s great that so many people are interested in yoga!

wow, sounds like yoga was the place to be! i can’t think of any routines i have to prepare me for work, except meditation. i try to start my day with at least 5 minutes of meditation immediately after i get up. it usually helps me deal with whatever comes at me! usually…

I actually don’t like getting so close and personal with others in my yoga class, especially hot yoga :) I need a few inches of breathing room!

I cook dinner – it is the one time of the day when I don’t HAVE to be anything else (like work, school, or rushing to the gym). It is the best part of my day!

I love that you talked about this place! This center is an amazing place, I’m there three or four times a week- I can’t imagine practicing anywhere else.
