Hammock Kind of a Day

This is how I found Richard when I came home today. Wrapped up in a hammock on our front porch.

This is Richard saying “hello!”

This morning I woke up still full from yesterday’s eats so I started the day with a banana, lots of PB and watermelon.

I saw Silk’s new Pure Coconut at the store and couldn’t help but try it. I had a glass before yoga and I’m not sure what I think of it. It’s creamy and coconut-y. It’s so white it reminds me of whole milk! I’m going to try it in a smoothie and see what I think of it then.

Blog reader Kristin and I went to Asheville Community Yoga for a Restorative class. It was the only class that worked time-wise so we tried it out. It was senior yoga with 90 minutes of different ways to lay on your back and it was awesome.

For lunch I had an (unpictured) chai latte freeze, PB&J sandwich and strawberries!

Around dinnertime I realized our fridge was just about empty. Enter kitchen sink salad.

Organic spinach with tomato, chopped apple, avocados, almonds, raisins and Amy’s Goddess dressing (we’re obsessed)… all tossed in the spinach’s original container.

Served with some leftover greasy frozen fries and carrots with more Goddess dressing and wa-bam. Dinner on an empty fridge.

Now Richard is out of the hammock and we’re camped in front of the TV watching Baby Mama. I’m about to make my at-home, healthier version of Starbuck’s Green Tea Frap. Yummo. I’ll share the recipe when I perfect it :)

What’s your favorite “milk”?

I love silk unsweetened almond milk, but my local store stopped carryin it so I bought the silk cocunut last time. It is so white! I like it, reminds me of ice cream. I think I’ll stick with the almond though, when I can get my hands on some.

9 am yoga at the YMCA is very similar to that. I was easily the youngest person there by 40 years. :)

The last time I fell asleep in a hammock I woke up with mosquito bites covering my lower back (shirt had crept up). OOPS!! LOL

Can’t wait to see the healthy green tea frap recipe, I avoid the fraps because of the sugar but love a tasty treat. :)

I love unsweetened original hemp milk. I am lactose intolerant and have almond and soy allergies. There weren’t many other options and I don’t like the extra sugar in sweetened versions.

ahhh a healthy, homemade version of starbucks green tea frap?! cannot wait for that! my absolute favorite “milk” is vanilla almond milk. but i’ve never attempted to make it at home. i heard its not that hard, so i would like to try making some nut milks at home and see how they compare to store-bought

I love hammocks, I used to have one when I was a kid and I’m desperate to get another one! Glad to see that it’s watermelon season!

My favorite milk is cow’s milk – skim or 2%. I do like vanilla soy & chocolate almond though :)
