You guys are awesome. Thanks for reading the Helplessness and Strength post and sharing stories of your experiences with birth control. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted since I quit the Pill a few days ago. Just knowing that my body is free to operate as it wishes and let go of the weight and emotions it’s been holding on to for six months is liberating!!
I actually cancelled my doctor’s appointment for tomorrow. After lots of research and discussion we’ve decided to hold off on starting a new birth control until after the wedding (and after I have health insurance). Now isn’t the time to experiment with a new pill, IUD or shot that could cause more negative effects on my body. Now is the time to play it safe in the bedroom and be my absolute best for the next five weeks until our wedding.
I can’t describe how absolutely empowering and exciting this decision is. My body is my body- from now on no Pill will control it. Wahoo!
In running news I have been so much more committed to my workouts since the 100% Committed post! I made a big deal out of it and mentally decided to be committed to running. It was a real choice and I followed through. Since then I’ve been regularly running and doing other workouts- like this new Jillian DVD!

Have you seen the K-Swiss Jump Start Challenge yet? Jillian Michaels and K-Swiss teamed together to create this sight with fitness tips and nutrition insight and more. The site has basic tips like replacing an unhealthy habit with a healthy one, how to keep motivated and how to combine workouts for greater results. The info is basic but sometimes we all forget the little things or want to learn something new.

Part of the Challenge revolves around the new K-Swiss Tubes. I was lucky enough to review a pair. I wear Brooks Trance when I’m running but was more than excited to try out new technology. (Check out their website- the YouTube videos are kind of funny
)

I wore my new Tubes while doing the 6 Week Six-Pack video. Holy moly- Jillian is TOUGH! The video includes two 30-minute video workouts featuring strength moves with bursts of cardio. I’ll admit that I had to pause the video a few times my first time

The Tubes were really comfy and springy. I like them for cross-training and wearing around, but I won’t be replacing my regular running shoes with them any time soon because it took a lot of pain and a lot of expensive running shoes to find out that the Brooks Trance were for me!
What is your favorite workout DVD?

I might be getting into a whole other can of worms here, but I really think it just speaks to the issues with our health care system that you have to go sans doctor/BC for five weeks just because you’re not married yet and therefore can’t get on your soon-to-be-husbands (presumably?) employer-provided health care plan. And you’re lucky to be young and healthy. There are so many people worse off, who don’t have the education and wherewithal to use non-prescription methods of preventing unwanted pregnancies. I could just go on. What a mess. Anyway. Off my soapbox.
If you do decide to go the hormonal route once you’re able to get back to the doctor, I highly recommend NuvaRing. Because of, erm, the direct delivery method, it’s a much lower dose of hormone – it doesn’t have to go through your bloodstream, liver, etc. to get to where it needs to be. So, any hormone-based side effects are much lower. I’ve been using it for… at least 5 years now… can’t remember exactly… and am a huge fan. Not having to worry about taking a pill at the exact same time every day is great. I also love that I can skip my period at will

Thanks for sharing this great article. I already use that dvd of Jillian Michaels. It helped me getting a six pack in 7 weeks. Keep on the good work with the articles.
