Thursday I had the opportunity to work at the Logan Circle lululemon store in DC! My goal is to be a store manager, so I was super excited to check out this great store and team!

I arrived in the city with 1.5 hours to kill before my shift. Right off the Metro I saw Red Velvet Cupcakery. I was sold when the sweet lady behind the counter said they had vegan flavors.

Hello vanilla velvet! It was de.li.cious. Yum.

The cupcake was good fuel as I hightailed it around town. I wanted to explore a lot in a short amount of time.

Working with the Logan Circle lululemon team is awesome. The company is really entrepreneurial so each store operates a little differently. Their guests were awesome and I enjoyed getting to know the team!

The lovely Jaclyn stopped by the store to say hello and bring me some tea! (Thanks Jaclyn!) I feel so privileged meeting awesome people through the blog.

After work I took a nice walk and hopped on the metro to meet friends for dinner. Let me tell you- I’m a city girl at heart. There’s something about the possibility and freedom of navigating a big city!

I made it to the Silver Spring area to meet Megan and friend Greg for an authentic Ethiopian dinner!

Greg is quite the joker. Love funny friends!

Greg lives in the area and directed us to dinner.

They were really easy with making their dishes vegan. I ordered the Misir Kik Wot- a red lentil dish.

It was delicious and so much to eat! I kept adding lentils to the belly and scooped it out with the spongy injera bread

There’s nothing better to do after a great dinner than to enjoy a great dessert. We found FroZenYo and they had dairy-free flavors. Done and done.

I had the mango soft serve and topped it with just about every vegan topping they had. Naturally I had the heaviest bowl. Love.

In reality I’m realizing my body doesn’t <3 sugar as much as I do. I woke up the next morning with a very unsettled belly and headache! At least the company kept me laughing even after we had parted!

What is your favorite kind of food? Italian, Ethiopian, Thai?

I have yet to try Ethiopian food and I want to so badly! I love eating things with bread (Italian family…yep.).
By the way, I would like to have your biceps, please.

That looks like fun. I grew up about 10 minutes from Silver Spring.

I’m very curious to find out what characterizes ethiopian food. But I’m pretty sure I’m all about Italian food, all the way! I even made myself some awesome tofu pasta yesterday!

I’ve never tried Ethiopian food but I definitely should! My friend actually went to Ethiopia two years ago for a couple weeks to see the country… lol although I’m not sure how much authentic food she actually ate.

I love DC! I always drive through it on my way to NC and want to stop. Keep us updated on the lululemon stuff–I recently learned what lululemon even is, and would love to learn more

I am excited for your Lululemon venture! I hope wonderful things came out of it. I would LOVE to work for Lululemon!
I’ve tried ethiopian food. I think I had a spinach dish, and while I LOVE spinach, I wasn’t a big fan of the spongy stuff.
I think my favourite food is Indian food. India has CRAZY variety in food, and they use everything they can: fruits, veggies, spices… I’m a huge fan of North Indian food – it’s so colourful, sweet and interesting
I was super lucky to be able to go to India this summer
Plus, most of the country is mainly vegetarian, which was an added bonus for me!

I really like Thai food. But Italian is always good! Gelato and lasagna!!
I had Ethiopian food for the first time earlier this month and LOVED it! It’s definitely right up there as one of my favourite types of cuisine. I also adore Indian and Italian cuisine. Spanish tapas are a nice treat too.

Washington DC is my dream city! I want to go there again
I’ve never been to an Ethiopian restaurant, but my sister is begging me to go to one with her. When I visited Portland, I saw several!

Looks like you had a great day! I’m so glad.
I love it when other people love my favorite city too. And you’re welcome for the tea! I hope you enjoy it. It’s my fave, as I said! Super minty and clovey. Yumz. Next time you’re in town, maybe we can meet up at Teaism for a cuppa and some food. Their menu is awesome too! Hope you come back soon!

I’m really into pan-aisian food right now. Chinese, we recently found a japanese fast food place close to the house, and indian.
DC is a blast, and logan’s circle is very close to where my office is. Cool! Glad you had a fun trip.

So glad you had fun in DC! That city has my heart; we’re actually moving back next weekend, after a year in CO (which is also amazing, obviously), and I can’t wait to play ‘tourist’ again!
My favorite kind of food is definitely Southwestern-style (more commonly referred to as “mexican”).
