I hope all who celebrate had a wonderful Christmas. This was our first married Christmas and my first Christmas away from home and it was wonderful! My favorite part was Christmas Eve. After dinner with the family Richard and I sat by our fireplace with a glass of wine and just-baked apple pie talking and listening to Christmas music.

Santa came Christmas morning!! He brought rawhide treats for the pups and a few gifts for us, too!

I love how making the dogs pose for photos makes them look absolutely terrified.

I’ve long been on a mission for a good vegan banana pancake recipe. Finally, I think I found one. I made this recipe Christmas morning and the result was a slightly chewy, slightly fluffy, wonderful pancake.

The ingredients are simple, too.

Vegan Banana Pancake Recipe

1 cup organic plain flour
1 heaped tsp baking powder
1 tbsp sugar (or agave nectar/brown rice syrup etc)
splash of vanilla extract
pinch salt
3/4 cup soya milk (or any non dairy milk)
1 ripe banana
1 tbsp vegan butter

Directions here.

What was the best thing you ate this holiday weekend?

Thanks for sharing the recipes and love your reading your post. In my part here in the Philippines sad to say that we’ve gone through a tragedy but still our Christmas is merry its because our entire family are intact and still with joy in our hearts. Love your post much and very stunning photos you have shared.

awww, i love the puppy pictures! merry christmas! this was our first married christmas too – it was wonderful.

also, our new puppy, jake, is black with white spots similar to your dogs – are any of them lab/pit mixes? we got him from a rescue, and really have no clue what he is!

Yay for black dogs!! Braxton is a pit/lab mix. They’re all black lab mixes, too. Dixie is with boxer, Puppy with Australian Shepherd and Barley we’re not so sure.
