Dry Falls

It’s going to be a great year. After announcing our move Richard and I headed an hour or so over to Highlands, NC. Highlands is known for its beautiful scenery– and as a spring vacation town for the wealthy.

Before we left I squeezed in a quick workout:

- 50 push-ups

- 50 burpees

- 50 air squats

- 50 ab mats

We drove to Highlands mostly for the waterfalls (and to check out what all the fuss was about).

Can you spot Richard in the photo above and me below? Dry Falls is a huge waterfall that you can walk under. It’s an amazing perspective to experience that power from underneath (TWSS).

After some sightseeing we explored the small downtown area, although it was mostly shut down for the winter and for the holiday. It was a cute town but nothing we’d go crazy for.

Except for maybe the delicious soy vanilla latte we scared at Bucks, an cute local coffee shop with some great art.

Sounds like a wonderful day.
I spent the day on an airplane…not the most fun day, but I did have to get home!

I’ve visited Dry Falls in high school! My grandparents used to live in Franklin, NC and we visited the Highlands often. I agree with you, it is a pretty area, but not my “style.”

Never been to Highlands but it looks lovely! Question, can you/Richard suggest somewhere near/in Asheville to hike and tent camp in the summertime? My kids and I are coming home for a visit for 2-3 weeks this summer. My bestie and I are taking our 4 boys camping for a few days. Thanks!

I spent my New Year’s Day running 5mi, cleaning, and watching a movie marathon on tv. Exciting :)
