At home.

That’s how I feel in Orlando. Like life is good, life is big and good things are happening all the time. Our first week here has been an endless trip of settling in, having fun with friends, doing awesome workouts, eating great food and starting work with lululemon.

There’s no denying Asheville is wonderful: country folks, fun hippies, big mountains, family we love and a totally original local feel. From the moment we decided to move back to Florida I had a deep seeded fear that I’d miss the mountains so much that it hurt. I feared that I’d fallen in love with the mountains and would never be able to escape that.
But all is good in my heart.

I began this morning with a three mile run around Lake Underhill before my favorite power yoga class at Orlando Power Yoga. On my run I felt a special kind of contentment. I felt safe. I felt grateful.

Awwh that’s so fantastic!! Welcome home!!
I feel at home near the ocean. I lived by a lake for a long time, but it’s not the same as the ocean!!
love this post and LOVE that quotation. I have it hanging in my kitchen!!!

also – clearly, my heart calls Madison home. Which I am pretty sure you were lucky to experience first hand once upon a time. You should feel extraordinarily special – you basically got an experience no one else every really has. Your first trip to Madison was one of my long awaited romantic trips HOME. You and I will be forever connected to that city, love.
“i want to be the kind of girl that Madison is.” – you said that. outloud. at Savvy Julie’s apartment. YES.

At the end of the day, all we each have is our family, friends, and happiness. Therefore, being where you can have all these things is the most important thing. Congratulations!

I love Maya Angelou. I wrote a post before the holidays called “I carry you in my heart” which kind of spoke to once you find your life partner, home is with him/her…even though certain places can feel better than others

After reading your post, it makes me want to leave everything and jump on a plane back to my hometown. Thanks for sharing this. What is the best thing in Orlando that made you want to come home?
Thanks!

Finding a place that makes your soul happy is hard. But when you do find it, it’s worth lingering. Or in your case, returning to.
Orlando is definitely where my heart feels most at home too, which is a shame when I live 4,500 miles from there now! Glad you’re enjoying it though, it’s an amazing place to live. Also, that’s awesome about the Lululemon job! The Millenia store is so nice
Sweet post.
. I think everyone has their own
“best” place to live. For me, it’s the Pacific Northwest. As much as I adore travelling, I never feel quite right until I am back here … I think it is the air.

Happy to hear that you are settling in well. I just got seriously sick, but let me know if you want to do something in a week or so once I’m back up to my regular self. We can meet up at Dandelion or Ethos.
